WHEN PRESENCE IS NO LONGER TANGIBLE, ABSENCE TAKES FORM AS MATERIAL.

performance, Lisboa, 2016

Memory has often been understood as something that preserves rather than transforms.

Here, I will use my body as a vessel of recollection, allowing it to become a living archive.

With a pen attached to it, I will return to the viewpoints we once shared, walking through Lisbon until the path closes upon itself. As skin presses into the surface in a quiet friction, at each location the canvas will be replaced.

I will walk until only a residue remains - an inscription of the body’s passage between flesh and remembered ground.
